Tracking Late December Winter Storm Expected to Impact the Northern Plains through the Northeast U.S.

A winter storm system will rapidly intensify over the Midwest on Sunday and track through the Great Lakes on Monday. Periods of heavy snow are anticipated across the Upper Great Lakes late Sunday and continuing into Monday. Severe Storms & Flooding


Two waves of thunderstorms impacted the region on June 27. The first moved from the Tri-State region east and northeast during the afternoon hours. The second moved southeast through the region during the evening hours. There were scattered reports of wind damage during both events, and flash flooding occurred with the slow moving evening line of storms (mainly from Wilmington to Cincinnati).
