Winter Storm Bringing Widespread Hazardous Weather to the Eastern U.S.

A rapidly-intensifying winter storm continues to bring heavy snow, high winds, and blizzard conditions over the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes through today. Snow

A band of powdery snow moved through the I-71 corridor on Tuesday morning producing 1-4" of accumulation. Many snowfall observers noted the very light, fluffy nature of the snow. Some snow-to-water ratios were measured as high as 35:1 with the snow, which is a much lighter-density snow than normal for the area.
