Heavy Rainfall for Portions of the West and Southern Plains; Dangerous Heat for the Northwest

Monsoonal flow coinciding with a frontal boundary will focus more showers and thunderstorms across the central Great Basin, central Rockies, Southwest into the Southern Plains. Heavy rainfall may bring about instances of flash flooding. Meanwhile, record setting heat continues for the Pacific Northwest through Monday. Severe Weather & Heavy Rain


During the afternoon and evening hours, multiple clusters of storms progressed through the region in a highly sheared (but low instability) environment. Very heavy rain was reported in parts of the area, as well as gusty non-thunderstorm-related winds. Additionally, an EF0 tornado was confirmed to have touched down in Clark County.
