Tropical moisture from the remnants of Odalys and Hurricane Polo will surge over the southwest into the central U.S. this week with several days of heavy to excessive rainfall which may bring limited to considerable flooding. Pulse convection thunderstorms formed in an extremely unstable airmass characterized by a low level thermal profile conducive to generating downburst and microburst tendencies for the storms that developed. Numerous storms produced strong straight-line wind damage in this environment, with over 50 reports of wind damage throughout the local area.
