Winter Storm Bringing Widespread Hazardous Weather to the Eastern U.S.

A rapidly-intensifying winter storm continues to bring heavy snow, high winds, and blizzard conditions over the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes through today. Heavy Rain and Flooding

Slow moving thunderstorms in a very moist environment produced instances of torrential rainfall in many areas which already had saturated soils due to previous heavy rain. Numerous reports of flooding were received, with some spots picking up nearly 3" of rain over a very short period of time.
