Details:

  1. 6/27/1951:  Touched down 2 miles south-southwest of Latham, and tracked eastward to near Forsyth. Two farms were completely destroyed near Heman, near the Logan/Macon county line.
  2. 6/27/1951: This tornado tracked 22 miles, from 3 miles south of Emden to 3 miles northeast of Waynesville (De Witt County).  Several farms were destroyed.
  3. 4/9/1953:  Struck rural areas near Lincoln, causing 3 injuries.
  4. 3/12/1954:  Originally touched down near Pleasant Plains (northwest Sangamon County), then moved northeast across Menard County into southwest parts of Logan County.  Most damage in Logan County was in rural areas southwest of Lincoln.
  5. 3/14/1957:  Touched down near Latham, damaging 2 farms.
  6. 4/30/1960:  Brief touchdown west of Atlanta, causing moderate damage.
  7. 5/15/1968:  This strong tornado mainly affected Mason County, but moved into Logan County east of Natrona.  The worst damage from this storm was near Natrona.
  8. 6/19/1972:  Brief touchdown 3 miles south of Elkhart.
  9. 6/16/1973:  Brief touchdown near Lincoln.
  10. 7/23/1973:  First of two tornadoes touching down on the east side of Lincoln, causing no damage.
  11. 7/23/1973:  Second of two tornadoes touching down on the east side of Lincoln, causing no damage.
  12. 4/3/1974:  This was part of the "Super Outbreak" of 148 tornadoes which affected the eastern half of the U.S. in a 24-hour period.  This tornado touched down 2 miles south of Lincoln, and raced northeast at 70 mph into northeast McLean County.
  13. 6/1/1975:  No information available on this storm.
  14. 11/29/1975:  Touched down about a mile north of Elkhart, destroying a trailer.
  15. 5/5/1977:  This violent tornado affected Atlanta, before moving east-northeast into McLean County.  From Storm DataThe community of Atlanta in Logan County was totally paralyzed by the storm.  Numerous homes were leveled by the tornado; roofs of buildings and homes were torn off and hurled through the area; sheds and outbuildings were crushed, farm machine sheds were picked up and sailed for long distances through the air; basements were flooded; trees were uprooted, maimed and left blocking streets, yards and crushing buildings.  At least 4 homes were reported completely destroyed and at least 12 said to be severely damaged. ... Damage was first noted at about 7:20 PM, on the south and west sides of Atlanta; the tornadic winds then were experienced along a track about 10 miles long just to the east of Interstate 55.  The 10-mile long swath of damage ended at some farms in the vicinity of Funks Grove, McLean County.
  16. 9/16/1980:  Touched down northeast of Latham, and moved into Macon County.
  17. 4/13/1981:  This tornado took an intermittent path, initially touching down in Fulton County, then moving across Mason and Logan Counties before lifting permanently in De Witt County.  It caused damage near Hartsburg and north of Lincoln.
  18. 5/30/1982:  Brief touchdown in an open field near Broadwell.
  19. 3/28/1985:  Touched down 1/2 mile south of Emden, moving east 4.5 miles.  Eight farm houses and many outbuildings were damaged or destroyed. 
  20. 5/9/1995:  This long-track tornado touched down near Salisbury in Sangamon County, and moved northeast across that county and parts of Menard County as well.  It was on the ground for 40 miles, finally lifting 5 miles northeast of Beason. It damaged several dozen buildings in Elkhart and produced twin tornadoes as it moved across I-55.  23 homes were damaged in a subdivision south of Lincoln. 
  21. 4/19/1996:  Touched down near the Logan/Tazewell County line, before moving northeast into Tazewell County and later McLean County.
  22. 6/6/1996:  This tornado touched down 2-1/2 miles southeast of New Holland, and lifted in Hartsburg, 9 miles away.  It caused minor damage to a home and several outbuildings.
  23. 4/7/1998:  Brief touchdown 2-1/2 miles west of Mount Pulaski.
  24. 4/7/1998:  Brief touchdown 6 miles north of Lincoln.
  25. 5/12/1998:  Brief touchdown 2 miles west of Elkhart. 
  26. 5/19/1998:  Brief touchdown 1 mile north of Atlanta.
  27. 6/4/1999:  Brief touchdown 4 miles northwest of Lincoln.
  28. 6/4/1999:  Touched down near the I-55/I-155 intersection northwest of Lincoln, and moved east-southeast for 3 miles.  It blew over several trucks, and damaged grain bins and farm equipment, as well as many trees at Kickapoo Creek Park. 
  29. 6/4/1999:   Brief touchdown near I-55 exit 123, 4 miles southwest of Lincoln.
  30. 4/20/2000:  Brief touchdown 4 miles southwest of Lincoln.
  31. 5/12/2000:  Brief touchdown just outside of Hartsburg.
  32. 5/18/2000:  Touched down 3 miles north of Beason, and traveled in open fields for 3 miles.
  33. 6/20/2000:  Brief touchdown in Broadwell, damaging a grain elevator and several trees.
  34. 4/4/2003:  Touched down 6 miles west of Lincoln, damaging a house and garage.
  35. 4/4/2003:  Brief touchdown just north of Atlanta.
  36. 5/28/2003:  Brief touchdown 4 miles southeast of Atlanta.
  37. 5/28/2003:  Touched down east of Beason, blowing down several trees before moving into De Witt County.
  38. 5/30/2003:  Brief touchdown between Emden and Hartsburg, causing minor damage.
  39. 5/30/2003:  Touched down a few miles north of Lincoln.
  40. 5/30/2003:  This tornado touched down west of Lawndale, and moved east-southeast into De Witt County.
  41. 6/11/2003:  Brief touchdown just southwest of Mount Pulaski.
  42. 6/11/2003:  Brief touchdown 2 miles south of Cornland.
  43. 6/11/2003:  Brief touchdown just southwest of Lake Fork.
  44. 9/26/2003:  Touched down 2 miles southeast of Broadwell, destroying an outbuilding and several trees.
  45. 5/30/2004:  Touched down in a mobile home park 3 miles south of Lincoln, destroying 3 trailers and damaging 28 others.
  46. 7/3/2004:  Brief touchdown 2 miles west of Lincoln.
  47. 7/3/2004:  Brief touchdown 2 miles southeast of Hartsburg.

  54. 4/13/2006:  Touched down on the northeast side of Lincoln, moving through a subdivision just north of the airport.  It was on the ground for 4 miles.
  55. 4/18/2006:  Touched down 2 miles west of Lincoln, crossing I-55 and overturning two trucks.
  56. 4/30/2006:  Brief touchdown 3 miles southeast of LIncoln.
  57. 3/28/2007:  Brief touchdown 1 mile north of Atlanta.
  58. 8/19/2007:  This strong tornado moved into Logan County from near Williamsville.
  59. 6/5/2010:  This tornado touched down 3.2 miles west-southwest of Beason, then tracked southeast into De Witt County.  It blew down several trees and tree branches in Logan County, and blew over a shed.
  60. 5/22/2019:  This tornado moved in from Menard County about 5.7 miles west-southwest of Elkhart, before dissipating about 2 miles west of Broadwell. Click here for more details. 
  61. 5/22/2019:  This tornado touched down near Kickapoo Creek County park on the north side of Lincoln, and moved northeast for 2.7 miles. Click here for more details.
  62. 9/29/2019:  Touched down in an open field 1.8 miles west-northwest of Emden, roughly paralleling US-136 along its 2.7 mile track. It passed about a quarter mile north of Emden. 
  63. 6/26/2021:  Touched down in a field just southwest of Cornland, damaging some crops.
