Overview

Numerous severe thunderstorms produced tornadoes, damaging winds, and heavy rain across central Indiana during the evening of June 17 into the early morning of June 18. Note that the tornado information remains preliminary and may change (as of June 18).

Tornadoes

Environment

A system with strong winds throughout the atmosphere moved into the area. The wind fields brought in unstable air. One round of thunderstorms moved through into the afternoon of the 17th, and this helped keep the severe weather farther south. The strong wind fields allowed storms to rotate.
