Strong Storm System Brings Heavy Mountain Snow to the Sierra Nevada and Critical Fire Weather Conditions to the Plains

A Pacific storm system will continue to bring low elevation rain and mountain snow to much of the West through Wednesday, with heavy mountain snow expected in the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada. Several Tornadoes Impact Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi March 26-27

Two rounds of severe thunderstorms containing tornadoes and damaging straight line winds affected Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi on March 26th and 27th.

At this time, 7 tornadoes have been confirmed from this event. Of the 7 tornadoes, 4 were rated EF1 and 3 were rated EF0. Numerous other locations experienced damaging straight line winds in excess of 60-70 mph.
