Heavy to Excessive Rainfall for the Southwest U.S.; Watching for Possible East Coast Storm

Thunderstorms and a chance for some isolated flash flooding will continue today in the Southwest U.S. before an influx of tropical moisture from Priscilla brings widespread heavy rainfall and a flash flooding threat late this week into this weekend. Several Tornadoes Impact Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi March 26-27

Two rounds of severe thunderstorms containing tornadoes and damaging straight line winds affected Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi on March 26th and 27th.

At this time, 7 tornadoes have been confirmed from this event. Of the 7 tornadoes, 4 were rated EF1 and 3 were rated EF0. Numerous other locations experienced damaging straight line winds in excess of 60-70 mph.
