Dangerous heat will build across the Southwest U.S. through the end of the week with daytime highs of 110-115°F. Heat across the southern Plains will briefly ease to near-normal by late week before returning over much of the Plains into next week. Although 2015 started off very cold, including a brutually cold February, a warm spring and very warm fall and early winter resulted in a warmer than normal year overall:

Probably the biggest weather event of the month was the heavy rain, flooding, and incredible snowstorm of March 4-5, followed by bitter cold. We also had heavy snow on January 23-24. Severe weather was relatively sparse this year, though we did have widespread wind damage on December 23. There were 10 tornadoes spread out over four separate events. The tornadoes were short-lived, mostly weak (5 of them were only EF0), and produced no injuries or deaths.
