Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in the Plains; Hazardous Heat in the South and Southeast

Severe thunderstorms will be possible across the northern/central Plains through Tuesday afternoon and from the central Plains to the Mid-Mississippi Valley Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Overview

Several rounds of thunderstorms moved across southern Indiana and central Kentucky during the morning hours on January 12, 2023 as a surface low trekked through the Ohio Valley. Storms initially moved into the area shortly after 4 AM EST and continued into the early afternoon hours. Overall, damaging straight-line winds, hail, and several brief tornadoes were observed with the storms.
