Atmospheric River to Begin to Impact the Northwest U.S.; Gusty Winds in the Northeast U.S.

A strong atmospheric river moving into northern California later Tuesday will bring a threat for moderate to heavy rainfall and flooding, gusty to high winds, and mountain snows for parts of the Northwest U.S. through at least Wednesday. Overview

Several rounds of thunderstorms moved across southern Indiana and central Kentucky during the morning hours on January 12, 2023 as a surface low trekked through the Ohio Valley. Storms initially moved into the area shortly after 4 AM EST and continued into the early afternoon hours. Overall, damaging straight-line winds, hail, and several brief tornadoes were observed with the storms.
