Heavy Snow from the Midwest into the Great Lakes; Locally Heavy Rain in the Western Gulf Coast

A significant winter storm will produce a broad area of moderate to heavy snow from the Midwest through the western Great Lakes. Significant snow accumulations of 6-12 inches, and locally more than 1 foot, and gusty wind may cause hazardous travel conditions. Overview

A strong storm system moved across the central United States during the afternoon and evening hours on March 31st, 2023, continuing across the Ohio and Tennessee valleys into the early morning hours of April 1st. While central Kentucky and southern Indiana were spared from the most severe impacts, scattered wind damage occurred across the area with one tornado being observed across Jefferson and Shelby County, KY.
