Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. An atmospheric river will move into the Northwest late today into Saturday bringing moderate to heavy rainfall, mountain snow, windy conditions, and high surf to the area over the weekend. Overview

On the evening of April 13, 2022, a line of severe storms spawned multiple tornadoes as it moved east across central Kentucky.  In addition to tornadoes, strong straight-line winds from thunderstorms also caused damage across central Kentucky. 

 

** Preliminarily 9 total tornadoes have been confirmed.**  

 

The southern Jefferson County EF-1 tornado was updated on April 27, 2022. Additional NWS storm surveys extended the path length to 7.2 miles.
