Louisville Cooperative Program Manager (CPM) Rick Lasher (left) presents David Calvert with a 15 year service award. Besides being an extremely dedicated weather observer in Scottsville, KY, David has been instrumental in increasing participation in the CoCoRaHS precipitation observing network, and other weather related community service in Allen County and south central Kentucky.

In spite of David's outstanding service, Rick, along with CPM Mike Crow, put David to work before he could receive the award. Just before the picture was taken, David, Rick and Mike installed a digital rain gauge at David's station. David's thermometer showed a high temperature of 88 degrees the afternoon of the installation. It's supposed to be cooler in the last week of September!
