Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall for the Southwest; Heat Spreads Across the Center of the Nation

Moisture will continue to move into areas of the West. This will increase showers and thunderstorms coverage and intensity, with the risk of flash flooding and damaging wind gusts. The tornado was embedded in a swath of 70mph straight-line winds.  The tornado touched down about four miles northeast of Winchester between Gay Evans Road and Pretty Run Road.  Two barns were destroyed, three barns had substantial damage, a corn crib was destroyed, one house had structural damage, and many trees were uprooted or snapped.
