Cub Scout Pack 4020 from Floyd County Indiana visited the NWS Louisville office on Monday evening. The group of 15 scouts, their leaders, and family members toured the office and gained insight into how weather data is collected and forecasts are made. The group also participated in a scavenger hunt involving past significant weather events to affect the region, and were awarded cloud identification charts and candy upon completion! One final treat included interaction with a Tornado Machine that produces a real and fascinating tornado. Pictured below is the tornado machine with Cub Scout Pack 4020 and their leaders.

NWS Louisville enjoyed having the Cub Scouts visit the office! If you have a group that would be interested in visiting/touring our office send a request and details to w-lmk.webmaster@noaa.gov
