Thunderstorms and Heavy Rains Across Portions of the Central and Eastern US; Heat Expands to Portions of the East

Widespread showers and thunderstorms, some severe, may produce heavy downpours and flash flooding across much of the eastern and central U.S. Dangerous heat will continue in the Pacific Northwest and expand across portions of the East. John Belski, a meteorologist at WLKY with plenty of experience in the Ohio River Valley, participated in our annual winter weather roundtable discussion here at the National Weather Service in Louisville.  John provided feedback on the products we issue and participated in our discussion on some of the newer products we are working on for future seasons.  We appreciated him taking the time to come help us get ready for winter and for giving us his insight.
