Areas of Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall Thursday

Severe thunderstorms capable of large to very hail and damaging winds are possible from parts of the northern High Plains into lower elevations of the northern and central Plains Thursday afternoon into night. A cold front will cross the region Saturday, bringing another shot of cooler air to the region.  The last one brought lows in the 50s for many places, but not the official climate site at Louisville.  The forecast for Sunday morning is just into the 50s, with Monday morning having a better shot at getting deeper into the 50s.  It's a little late in the season for the first lows in the 50s at Louisville.  The latest this drop has occurred in any given season for Louisville was on September 22, back in 1921.
