Heavy Snow from the Midwest into the Great Lakes; Locally Heavy Rain in the Western Gulf Coast

A significant winter storm will produce a broad area of moderate to heavy snow from the Midwest through the western Great Lakes. Significant snow accumulations of 6-12 inches, and locally more than 1 foot, and gusty wind may cause hazardous travel conditions. The NOAA Weather Radio transmitter in Elizabethtown, KY (frequency 162.550 MHz) will be off the air for most of the day on Thursday, August 7, 2025. In the meantime, NOAA Weather Radio listeners in Hardin County can tune to the Ekron transmitter (162.450 MHz) or the Horse Cave transmitter (162.500 MHz).
