Excessive Rainfall and Significant Flooding in the Upper Midwest This Weekend

Heavy to excessive rainfall is expected over the weekend across eastern Iowa, northern Missouri, northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin. NWS Louisville staff were treated to presentations from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Ohio River Forecast Center on Wednesday, October 23rd. Michelle Thornton of the U.S. Coast Guard presented on operations on the Ohio River and how they pertain to OHRFC/NWS operations. Jim Noel of the Ohio River Forecast Center updated the staff on OHRFC operations.
