Flooding Risks from Tropical Moisture Across the Southeast and Southwest

Tropical moisture from Isaias and Rachel will impact portions of the Southeast and Southwest this weekend. Flash flooding, strong winds and even a threat for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible. NWS Louisville staff were treated to presentations from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Ohio River Forecast Center on Wednesday, October 23rd. Michelle Thornton of the U.S. Coast Guard presented on operations on the Ohio River and how they pertain to OHRFC/NWS operations. Jim Noel of the Ohio River Forecast Center updated the staff on OHRFC operations.
