Hurricane and Storm Surge Watches Issued for the Northern Gulf Coast for Strengthening Tropical Storm Isaias

Tropical Storm Isaias is forecast to track toward the central Gulf Coast while strengthening into a hurricane on Thursday. There is an increasing risk of damaging hurricane-force winds and life-threatening storm surge impacts along portions of the northern Gulf Coast Friday into Saturday. Showers and storms end this morning. Then more showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and/or tonight. Some of the storms late today and tonight may be severe with damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. In addition, a flash flood watch is in effect for south-central Indiana and much of central Kentucky (except parts of south-central KY). Periods of very heavy rain could cause local flash flooding late today or tonight. Keep aware of the weather situation today and tonight, and have an action plan in case severe weather or flash flooding threatens your area!
