Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across the mid-Mississippi Valley into this weekend. Heat Advisories remain in effect. Heavy to excessive rainfall occurring at times through the weekend could bring areas of flooding to parts of the northern Rockies, upper Midwest, central Great Lakes, and southern New England. Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) Joe Sullivan attended a press conference where Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer declared the city snow ready. The press conference was attended by members of the Louisville Metro Snow Team which includes transportation cabinets, public works, school officials and students, airport snow removal, and members of the fire department. Joe predicts near normal snowfall amounts this upcoming winter, mostly in the form of small events.
