Areas of Dangerous Heat and Severe Thunderstorms

Dangerous heat will persist across the Southwest U.S. through Friday with daytime highs of 110-115°F. Heat across the southern Plains will briefly ease to near-normal by late week before returning over much of the Plains into next week. Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) Joe Sullivan attended a press conference where Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer declared the city snow ready. The press conference was attended by members of the Louisville Metro Snow Team which includes transportation cabinets, public works, school officials and students, airport snow removal, and members of the fire department. Joe predicts near normal snowfall amounts this upcoming winter, mostly in the form of small events.
