On Friday July 31st, Dr. Bill Fountain, the Extension Professor of Arboriculture and Landscape Management at the University of Kentucky, gave NWS Louisville employees and students a class on tree risk assessment. The class was broadcast as a webinar and Periscope open to NWS personnel, county emergency managers, and the public. The information learned from Dr. Fountain's talk will be applied in helping NWS storm surveyors determine if tree storm damage was due to pre-existing tree issues or severe weather. UPS and Fort Knox Weather both had meteorologists in attendance.
