A system in the Gulf could produce heavy rainfall and flash flooding for portions of the north-central Gulf Coast into Saturday. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon into Friday from Central Plains into the mid-Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and Central Appalachians. Fall weather was quiet in 2020 in keeping with the theme for the rest of the year. There was almost no severe weather and the only snowfall was on the last day of the season. Probably the most significant event of this fall was the mini heat wave November 8-10 when many locations recorded highs in the 80s each day.
