Areas of Excessive Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorms Friday

Heavy thunderstorms may bring areas of excessive rainfall and locally considerable flooding over parts of the Ozarks into the lower-Mississippi River Valley Friday and Saturday. On April 16, Bellarmine University in Louisville became the sixth university in Kentucky to be recognized as a StormReady University. Bellarmine is the Commonwealth's first private StormReady university. The Office of Public Safety has aligned the University's severe weather response with national best practices, and developed a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan that could be a model for campus preparedness everywhere.
