Atmospheric River to Begin to Impact the Northwest U.S.; Gusty Winds in the Northeast U.S.

A strong atmospheric river moving into northern California later Tuesday will bring a threat for moderate to heavy rainfall and flooding, gusty to high winds, and mountain snows for parts of the Northwest U.S. through at least Wednesday. On April 16, Bellarmine University in Louisville became the sixth university in Kentucky to be recognized as a StormReady University. Bellarmine is the Commonwealth's first private StormReady university. The Office of Public Safety has aligned the University's severe weather response with national best practices, and developed a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan that could be a model for campus preparedness everywhere.
