Severe Thunderstorms in the Central U.S.; Heavy to Excessive Rainfall in the Ohio Valley and Central Appalachians

Severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds, hail, and a few tornadoes are expected through Tuesday across parts of the central Plains and lower to mid Missouri Valley. Boy Scout Troop #61 visited the National Weather Service office in Louisville on Wednesday. The group took a tour of the office including a view of operations, how we issue forecasts, how we issue warnings, and how we observe and measure temperature and precipitation.
