Winter Storm to Impact the Northern Mid-Atlantic and Interior Northeast; heavy rain in the Southeast

A storm system will bring a variety of hazards to the Eastern US. Wintry precipitation is expected from the central Appalachians to the Northeast. Heavy snow is expected for interior New England and the northern Mid-Atlantic through the night, and icing will continue in the Appalachians this morning. No high temperatures records were broken on Sunday, but all sites reporting in southern Indiana and central Kentucky got into the 90s. 

We will close out September with another day of unseasonable heat, and more to come for the start of October.  

Records in jeopardy this week include the warmest September, the driest September, the driest month all-time, and the all-time warmest October day.
