Winter Storm to Impact the Northern Mid-Atlantic and Interior Northeast; heavy rain in the Southeast

A storm system will bring a variety of hazards to the Eastern US. Wintry precipitation is expected from the central Appalachians to the Northeast. Heavy snow is expected for interior New England and the northern Mid-Atlantic through the night, and icing will continue in the Appalachians this morning. Hot and muggy conditions are expected Thursday. A Heat Advisory has been issued for areas along and west of a Frankfort-Lebanon-Tompkinsville line where afternoon heat index readings may peak around 105 degrees. Take it easy if you need to work outside, or do not have access to air conditioning!
