Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are likely across parts of the Northeast, portions of the northern and central Plains, and the Ohio Valley. Portions of northeast Missouri and central Illinois could experience locally significant flash flooding. Almost the entire region saw temperatures in the lower to mid 90s on Friday afternoon. Record highs were broken at Louisville and Lexington, and Bowling Green came up just one degree short. High temperatures will be very close to record levels each day through the middle of next week.
