Hurricane Isaias Approaching the Gulf Coast; Remnants of Rachel to Impact the Southwest U.S.

Hurricane Isaias is expected to make landfall along the U.S. northern Gulf Coast late Friday or early Saturday. A life-threatening storm surge is expected along the coast with damaging wind gusts extending well inland. Summer heat persisted with just about everyone in southern Indiana and central Kentucky getting on board the 90 train. Several locations in north central Kentucky reached the mid 90s, with new records for the date being established in Louisville, Lexington, and Frankfort. Unseasonable heat is expected to continue well into next week.
