Damage Type: Tornado Date: Oct 07 2014 EF Scale: 1 Wind Speed: 105 MPH Path Length: 1.97 miles Path Width: 150 yards Start Time: 03:48 PM EDT Start Location: 1 mile N of Stamping Ground, KY Start Lat/Lon: 38.284/-84.689 End Time: 03:49 PM EDT End Location: 2.4 miles NE of Stamping Ground, KY End Lat/Lon: 38.297/-84.656 Narrative: The tornado began as an EF-0 with 80 mph winds as it snapped and uprooted multiple trees and caused minor siding damage. It then traveled eastward causing damage to multiple structures. There was minor damage to the roofs of two houses and significant damage to the roof of another house. EF-1 damage occurred here. Two outbuildings were also destroyed. The tornado lifted after a small outbuilding was destroyed and the roof of a residence was damaged. The tornado lifted just east of Graves Road. The NWS is deeply grateful to private pilot Joe Evanson (704WH) and photographer Courtney Clements who took detailed aerial photos. Their aerial survey confirmed the damage path that had been ground surveyed, and no additional damage was found.
