Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain in the Mid-South; Heat Continues in the Southeast and Southwest

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected across portions of the mid-Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley and portions of Arizona. Dangerous heat persists in the South and Southeast while building into the Southwest. Overview

A strong cold front passed through the Lower Ohio Valley during the overnight hours from April 3-4. Ahead of this front, multiple rounds of severe storms developed. A couple of strong bow echoes resulted in swaths of wind damage, two tornadoes, and some large hail across south central Kentucky.
