Hurricane Erin Moving Away from the North Carolina Coast, Dangerous Surf & Rip Currents Continue; Hazardous Heat out West

Tropical storm conditions, storm surge flooding and coastal flooding continue today across the Outer Banks and portions of the Mid-Atlantic coast. Overview

Two rounds of severe thunderstorms moved through the Ohio Valley on the afternoon and early evening of May 31. Widespread wind damage occurred across the area, and a few locations also saw heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
