In the satellite animation below, a thunderstorm develops at the beginning of the loop just northwest of Greensburg. Watch how the shadow of the storm, stretching off to the right, grows longer as the storm builds and the sun sets. By the end of the loop the shadow is about 80 miles long, stretching all the way from Marion County to Laurel County. The animation goes from 7:42pm to 8:32pm EDT.
