Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Narrative: Moved east from south of High Grove, to seven miles west of Fairfield, to two miles east of Fairfield. A man was killed in a tobacco barn, and thirty people were injured in the High Grove area as at least six homes were destroyed. The funnel may have been aloft over Fairfield. This tornado was part of the "Enigma Outbreak", when sixty tornadoes swept through the southeast United States.
