Tracking Storm System Across the Central U.S.

A storm system will slowly continue to press across the central U.S. Friday and Saturday with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Slight risks for severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall have been issued Saturday from the Ozarks into the mid-Mississippi River Valley with potential for damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding. Narrative:  Moved east from two miles north of Greenville to near Powderly and to southeast of Rochester.  The tornado moved through a rural area of poorly constructed homes, many owned by miners.  A number of these homes were swept away.  One man was killed in Butler County, running from a house to a barn.  Both were destroyed.
