Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in the Southern Plains; Heat Continues in the West

Strong to severe thunderstorms may bring areas of excessive rainfall and flooding over parts of the southern Plains today through Friday. Hot to dangerously hot temperatures are forecast across portions of the Pacific Northwest and southern Great Basin today. Narrative:  Two large factory buildings and a warehouse at the American Car and Foundry plant were destroyed in Jeffersonville, halting production of much-needed naval artillery.  Slight roof damage occurred at the corner of Walnut and Court Streets.  The damage was surveyed by the chief of the Louisville weather station, E.
