Heavy Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorm Threats for the Plains and Southeast

A frontal boundary extending from the western High Plains to the Southeast will focus additional showers and thunderstorms this weekend. Some of these storms may become severe, alongside frequent lightning, and isolated instances of flash flooding. WAVE 3 Meteorologists Kevin Harned and Brian Goode visited NWS Louisville meteorologists on December 16th. The NWS and the broadcast media have a crucial partnership, working together to deliver critical weather information to the local community. Today's visit was an opportunity to exchange ideas, forecast tools and procedures as well as showcase damage survey toolkits.
