Severe Thunderstorms Thursday in the Southern Plains; Coastal Storm to Bring Rain and Wind to New England

Severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of the southern Plains Thursday, with large hail the main threat. A few instances of 2+ inch diameter hail are possible. Overview

Heavy rain impacted portions of South Florida during the early morning hours on Monday, December 23rd. The greatest rain amounts fell across northeast Miami-Dade County and southeast Broward County. Significant and impactful flooding affected the Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, and Dania Beach areas with localized rain totals exceeding 12 inches. Numerous roads were impassable and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) International Airport ceased operations for several hours due to flooding on the premises.  Flooding continued impacting several roads across the area into Monday afternoon and evening.
