Milton Moving off the Florida East Coast; Lingering Storm Surge, Heavy Rain, and Damaging Winds

Milton is moving off the Florida East Coast this morning. Gradual weakening is expected with Milton forecast to become a powerful extratropical low tonight well off the southeast U.S. coast. Life-threatening storm surge, heavy to excessive rainfall, and damaging hurricane-force winds, especially in gusts, will continue for a few more hours this morning over east-central and northeastern Florida.
