Snow Squalls from the Upper Midwest to Great Lakes; High Winds in the Northern and Central Plains

An Arctic front will bring widespread snow squalls through Friday from the Upper Midwest to the Ohio Valley. Heavy snow rates and strong winds will lead to near-zero visibility and dangerous travel conditions. Milwaukee experienced at or above normal mean monthly temperatures every month in 2012, except for October and September.  Similarly, Madison experienced at or above normal mean monthly temperatures every month in 2012, except October and September.  

As such, the 2012 mean average temperature in Madison was the warmest on record, and in Milwaukee tied for the warmest on record.  This was attributed to a Top 5 warmest 2011-2012 winter, the warmest spring 2012 on record, a top 3 warmest summer in 2012, and a near normal autumn.
