Coastal Threats for the East and Gulf; Record Warmth for the Central U.S.

Persistent onshore flow across the Southeast and portions of the mid-Atlantic will keep the risk of rip currents through the weekend. Rainfall could be locally heavy across Florida, especially along the eastern shoreline. Meanwhile, record warmth for portions of the Plains and Midwest with elevated fire concerns. Most NOAA Weather Radio stations across southern Wisconsin including

  • KEC-60 in Delafield/Milwaukee
  • WXJ-87 in Madison
  • WWG-87 in Fond du Lac
  • KZZ-76 in Racine
  • WWG-91 in Sheboygan
  • WWG-90 in Janesville 

are experiencing intermittent audio dropouts due to communications issues on the AT&T line serving the broadcast.  The communication issues are resulting in intermittent distorted/buzzy and choppy audio, or even briefs gaps in the broadcast program.

AT&T and Education Communications Board technicians have been alerted to the problem.
