CENTRAL GULF COAST...

...Synopsis...
An anomalously strong deep layer ridge parked over the deep south
was responsible for multiple days of record heat through the
month of September. A record dry spell was also recorded which has
worsened drought conditions locally. A few notable sites are
listed below showing the days on which record highs were reached
or exceeded indicated by a T-Tied or B-Broken, along with previous
record temperature year of occurrence. A few additional
highlights are also provided for each site.

Unseasonable heat is forecast to continue through Saturday. A
strong cold front makes passage early next week and finally brings
relief.
