FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT. Multiple rounds of heavy rain will impact the local area through the weekend. Increasing confidence that storms will produce heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding, especially in urban areas or where storms repeatedly move over the same locations. Most likely rainfall totals through Monday is 4-6 inches, highest along the coast. A few locations near the coastline could receive up to 10 inches of rain.
Prevent localized flooding by clearing gutters and storm drains. Have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially if you have outdoor plans. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to quickly move to higher ground when warnings are issued. Heavy rain can cause flooding of low- lying spots, underpasses, and poor drainage areas - do not attempt to cross flooded roads.
