Overview

A pre-frontal trough and associated cold front approached the region, triggering a broken line of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening on July 25. Several clusters within the line of thunderstorms produced damaging winds. One cluster moved across portions of Essex and Union Counties in New Jersey Richmond County in New York, another across northern New Haven County, and another from the border of Westchester County and Fairfield County down into central Long Island.
