Overview
A slow moving cold front and multiple waves of low pressure interacted with a tropical air mass to produce a line of showers and thunderstorms. A few thunderstorms along the line during the afternoon produced localized wind damage. The thunderstorms weakened in the evening, but moderate to locally heavy showers persisted through Sunday, September 7. No flash flooding was reported but rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts up to 3 inches were reported, mainly along and east of the Hudson River.
