Overview
A cold front passage brought a band of moderate to locally heavy wet snow to northeast New Jersey, Lower Hudson Valley, and portions of the NYC metro and southwest Connecticut. Locally heavy Snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour at times were observed, mainly during the late morning and early afternoon. The band of snow weakened as it moved east over Long Island and southeast Connecticut during the afternoon as it encountered drier air, but also warmer surface temperatures. The snow caused several minor accidents on area roadways.
