Overview

An approaching cold front brought a round of showers and thunderstorms across parts of the Lower Hudson Valley, NE NJ, and NYC metro.
A few severe thunderstorms occurred in NE NJ bringing trees and power lines down in the towns of Hackensack, Maywood, and North Arlington.
The same cluster of storms weakened as it moved over the NYC metro and western Long Island, but produced localized damage with a few trees and limbs down in Manhattan and Queens.
Another area of severe thunderstorms developed across interior CT with some isolated damage reports in Waterbury, weakening as it approached the coast.
