June of 2026 started out generally warm and dry across south central and southeast Colorado, with passing weather systems through the middle and end of the month bringing some precipitation across the higher terrain, along with periods of severe thunderstorms across the southeast Plains.  

The following graphics depict monthly temperature and precipitation departures from normal across the state for the past month of June.

 

The preliminary average temperature in Alamosa for the past month of June was 62.7 degrees. This is 2.1 degrees above normal and makes June of 2026 the 7th warmest June on record in Alamosa, well behind the warmest June of 2012,  when the average temperature was 64.5 degrees. The average June maximum temperature in Alamosa was 84.3 degrees, which is 4.1 degrees above normal.  The average June minimum temperature in Alamosa was 41.0 degrees, which is 0.1 degrees above normal.  Alamosa recorded 0.12 inches of precipitation through the month of June. This is 0.31 inches below normal and makes June of 2026 the 16th driest June on record.  (ALS POR: 1932-2026)    

 

The preliminary average temperature in Colorado Springs for the past month of June was 69.6 degrees. This is 2.4F above normal and makes June of 2026 tied as the 10th warmest June on record, well behind the warmest June of 2012 when the average temperature was  73.3F.  The average June maximum temperature in Colorado Springs was 84.6 degrees, which is 3.0 degrees above normal. The average June minimum temperature in Colorado Springs was 54.7 degrees, which is 1.9 degrees above normal. Colorado Springs recorded 0.69 inches of precipitation throughout the month of June. This is 1.58 inches below normal and makes June of 2026 the 24th driest June on record.  (COS POR: 1895-2026)    

 

The preliminary average temperature in Pueblo for the past month of May was 75.1 degrees. This is 3.3 degrees above normal and makes June of 2026 the 9th warmest June on record in Pueblo, well behind the warmest June of 2012, when the average temperature was 77.0F. The average June maximum temperature in Pueblo was 92.5 degrees, which is 3.9 degrees above normal. The average June minimum temperature in Pueblo was 57.7 degrees, which is 2.7 degrees above normal. Pueblo recorded 2.73 inches of precipitation in June, with 2.62 inches falling on June 23rd. This is 1.45 inches above normal and makes June of 2026 the 14th wettest June on record.     (PUB POR: 1888-2026)  

 

Looking ahead into July in Alamosa, the average high temperature of 83F on July 1st, warms to 84F by July 4th before cooling back to 82F by the end of the month. The average low temperature of 45F on July 1st warms to 48F by the end of the month. The average temperature for the month of July in Alamosa is 65.3 degrees.  Alamosa averages 1.04 inches of precipitation through the month of July.  On average, July is the warmest  and 2nd wettest month of the year in Alamosa.        

In Colorado Springs, the average high temperature of 86F on July 1st, warms to 87F by July 7th before cooling back to 86F by the end of the month. The average low temperature of 56F on July 1st warms to 59F by the end of the month.  The average temperature for the month of July in Colorado Springs is 72.4 degrees.  Colorado Springs averages 3.12 inches of precipitation through the month of July.  On average, July is the warmest and wettest month of the year in Colorado Springs.          

In Pueblo, the average high temperature of 93F on July 1st, warms to 94F by July 6th before cooling back to 93F by the end of the month. The average low temperature of 59F on July 1st warms to 62F by the end of the month. The average temperature for the month of July in Pueblo is 77.2 degrees. Pueblo averages 1.89 inches of precipitation through the month of July. On average, July is the warmest  and 2nd wettest month of the year in Pueblo.
