Wet Travel Conditions for the East; Snow and Wind for the Pacific Northwest and Rockies

A storm lifting northward toward the Great Lakes will bring periods of rain and gusty winds for the eastern third of the country today. For the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, accumulating snow and strong winds will make for hazardous traveling conditions through tonight. Plane Being Struck by a Lightning Flash

The images below show an aircraft being affected by a lightning flash. To the authors knowledge, nobody on the plane was injured. It is unknown if the aircraft experienced any damage. According to the scientist who acquired this imagery, the airplane itself triggered the lightning discharge.
