Winter Storm for south-central U.S.; Critical Fire Weather in the West; Tracking Zeta

Heavy snow will continue to spread south along the Rockies through Monday. An area of freezing rain and sleet is forecast to develop over portions of the southern Plains to start the week. Meanwhile, dry and gusty conditions will continue critical fire weather conditions from California into southern New Mexico. An overall quiet weather week expected, with high temperatures slowly moderating through the week. Areas of frost will be possible overnight tonight and through much of Monday morning. The next chance for rain is expected on Friday and may continue into the weekend.
A Frost Advisory has been issued for the lowlands overnight tonight through most of Monday morning as low temperatures drop back into the upper 20s to mid 30s. Low temperatures will then gradually warm a few degrees each night through the week.
